The i-gel® Plus is a single-use supraglottic airway from Intersurgical for small adults weighing 30-60 kg. It builds on the original i-gel® and the i-gel® O2, and its soft cuff needs no inflation after insertion, so placement is quick and easy. It also has an integral bite block and a buccal cavity stabiliser. The gastric channel is larger than on the standard i-gel®: size 3 takes a 16FG tube against 12FG on the standard device. An intubation ramp raises the oesophageal seal and, with the larger gastric channel, helps manage regurgitated fluid. A supplementary oxygen port allows passive oxygenation during resuscitation.
